AFTER three months of continued surveillance and monitoring, the notorious leader of the PEN drug group of La Union, whose operations extend to Pangasinan, has fallen in the hands of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1) through a buy-bust operation the last November 5.

The suspect, Michael Lagasca, also known as Kenneth Lagasca, was arrested in Agoo, La Union.

The 32-year old Lagasca has been on the Top Priority Target List of PDEA and the Philippine National Police.

Initial intelligence reports trace his illegal activities from simple street-pushing to supplying his network in Pangasinan until he eventually took over the disbanded CALICA drug group.

Newly installed PDEA regional director Rogelio C. Cabrera said his office is currently tracking the remaining members.

Three plastic sachets of Methamphetamine hydrochloride otherwise known as shabu were recovered from the suspect including the cellular phone used in the illegal drug transaction and the buy-bust money.

Lagasca is now facing charges for selling and possession of illegal drugs.
