LINGAYEN–Grasscutters and water pumps were distributed to 12 barangays in Alaminos City last November 9 as part of the provincial government’s program on livelihood development.

Board Member Amadeo Espino, Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) provincial president, thanked the provincial government headed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr. for giving importance to the role that barangays play in governance.

At the same time, Amadeo Espino reminded the barangay chairmen who received the equipment to prioritize service to their constituents and minimize politicking for the 2013 elections.

For his part, Alaminos City ABC vice president Abelardo dela Cruz, thanked the governor for helping address their need for an efficient irrigation system.

“Alaminos is very close to the heart of the governor, as well as in mine,” said Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr.

The twelve barangay beneficiaries, collectively dubbed as the Magdiwang group, are: Bolaney, Bued, Limansangan, Lucap, Macatiw, Palamis, Pandan, Pogo, Polo, Quibuar, Tanaytay, and Tawintawin.– Johanne R. Macob
