De Venecia scholars: 12,000 and counting

FOURTH District Rep. Gina de Venecia has announced that since the 70s, she and her husband have already sent some 12,000 deserving students to college through the De Venecia Scholarship Program.
“Many of them have become educators, others are engineers and nurses while some have chosen the path of public service,” said De Venecia.
At present, there are 414 scholars enrolled in different colleges and universities and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)- accredited institutions. Of these, 250 are De Venecia scholars, some 60 others are CHED (Commission on Higher Education)-assisted scholars, while the remaining 104 are scholars taking up vocational courses with the help of TESDA .
De Venecia also announced that enrolment is still open to those who want to gain vocational skills, such as housekeeping, computer hardware servicing, food & beverage, massage therapy, health-care services, welding, bread& pastry production, and bartending, for employment here and abroad.
Interested individuals may inquire at De Venecia’s District Office at the 2nd Floor, Union Bank Bldg, A.B. Fernandez Avenue, Dagupan City.
In addition, De Venecia has also filed House Bill 5911 to convert the Judge Jose De Venecia, Sr. Memorial National High School in Barangay Bolosan, Dagupan City into a technical vocational secondary school, to be known as Judge Jose De Venecia, Sr. Memorial Technical Vocational Secondary School.
