THE University of Pangasinan-PHINMA, in partnership with the Dagupan City government and the Department of Education, will award the winner, possibly more than one, in the “Search for the Best Public School Teacher” on October 10 at the Archbishop Palace social hall.

Competing for the award are teachers Virginia Albino of Sabangan Elementary School; Acela Callejo, Malued Elementary School; and Mary Jean Siapno, Dagupan City National High School.

Dr. Joseph Richard O. Mejia, Upang College of Social Sciences dean, said the finalists have been interviewed on the basis of their “summary profile and rating in the class observation” which was attended by panelists that included Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese Archbishop Socrates Villegas, Executive Assistant III Deborah Castillo representing Mayor Benjamin S. Lim; Dr. Nigel Cabison, PHINMA Education Network research director; Dr. Shiela Cayabyab, UPang College of Art and Science dean and Dr. Aleli Cornista, Upang Graduate School dean.

The award is in line with the university’s corporate social responsibility project “Programang Gawad Dunong”. (CIO)
