THE Lyceum-Northwestern University (LNU) varsity team, maintaining a no-loss card since the opening day skirmishes last July 16, emerged champion in the just-concluded 2012 PRISAA Metro Dagupan Division Collegiate Games Basketball Event, giving it a back-to-back feat.

LNU will represent Metro Dagupan in the PRISAA Region I Collegiate Games on Nov ember 5-8 in Lingayen.

True to its championship form and style, LNU outlasted its equally formidable foes in the month-long tournament: Pangasinan Merchant Marine Academy (PAMMA), 97-82, Colegio de Dagupan (CdD), 92-81, University of Luzon(UL), 83-76, and PIMSAT Colleges, 110-58, and registered the most number of wins without any loss in the final standings.

Meanwhile, CdD, sporting a 3-1 win-loss card, was first runner–up.

With the win-over-the-other rule, UL, which beat PAMMA, 70-68, grabbed 2nd runner-up honor with a 2-2 slate.

PAMMA (2-2) and PIMSAT (0-4) occupied 4th and 5th places, respectively in the five-PRISAA-member-school cage tourney.

As a follow-through tournament to the PRISAA cagefest, the 5th PCCL (Philippine Collegiate Champions League)-UCAAP (Universities and Colleges Athletic Association of Pangasinan) Basketball Championship will open on September 10 at the Peoples Astrodome with nine teams participating.

Joining the tournament are defending champion University of Pangasinan-PHINMA, first runner-up LNU, CdD, UL, PAMMA, PIMSAT, Asia Institute of E-Commerce College (AIE), and newcomers World Citi College (WCC) of Binalonan and International College for Excellence (ICE) of Urdaneta City.–Philamer C.
