SAN CARLOSCITY—The longest running noontime show in the country, Eat Bulaga, staged an episode here September 12, bringing entertainment and a message on environmental awareness.

Officials of San Carlos City said the coming of Eat Bulaga at a time when the people had just gone through flooding caused by prolonged monsoon rains that devastated their crops was a very welcome relief.

Some 20,000 people packed the Arenas-Resuello Sports Complex and they cheered when a contestant from the city who joined one of the show’s games said, “habang may buhay may pag-asa”.

Aside from the performances and games, the Eat Bulaga group also donated 40 plastic chairs to one of the schools in the city.

The chairs are made from plastics earlier donated to the show and the hosts urged the people of San Carlos to likewise collect their plastic waste and recycle these into useful products. –Brian Kim Maramba, UPang
