8 arrested in ‘shabu’ session

VILLASIS—Eight persons were arrested in Barangay Piaz here in a raid by joint elements of the Villasis Police and the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) at about 11:30 a.m. of August 16.

The lawmen were conducting a buy-bust operation against Ferdinand Callanto and Arjay Soblechero, suspected drug pushers, when they stumbled into a ‘session’ going on in the area.

Arrested were Lorelyn Nayno, Rebecca Soblechero, Danny Villapa, Wilfredo Villanueva, Jun Mark Baturi and Jun-jun Arellano.

Confiscated from the suspects were the marked money of two P500 bills and two transparent sachets containing crystalline substance called shabu.

One more plastic sachet of shabu was found in the possession of Rebecca Soblechero, two plastic sachets containing marijuana leaves from Arellano and one hand grenade from Arjay Soblechero.

A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Anti-Drugs Law has already been filed against the suspects, including illegal possession of explosive against Soblechero.
