Backrider with no helmet dies in motorcycle crash
MALASIQUI–A woman riding behind the driver of a motorcycle died when their vehicle crashed at the roadside while overtaking another vehicle along the highway in Barangay Calbeg here on July 1.
Brendalyn Ferrer, 39, and the driver of the motorcycle, Judly Bayangat, 21, were rushed to the Malasiqui Municipal Hospital after the accident but Ferrer, given her serious condition, was later transferred to the Region 1 Medical Center where she later died.
Investigation conducted by the Malasiqui police showed that both driver and her backrider were not wearing crash helmets.
