2 pushers from Dagupan arrested in LU

LA UNION–Joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1) and the San Fernando City Police Station arrested two shabu dealers from Dagupan in a buy-bust operations on July 4.

Taken into custody and charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 were Hasim Barodi and Lenbert Arizo in Pagdalagan, San Fernando City, La Union after they sold P110,000 worth of shabu to law enforcement agents posing as buyers.

In the buy-bust operation, the 37 year old Hasim handed the two plastic sachets of shabu to his “customer” as his 39 year old associate Lenbert eagerly took the P52,000 marked money as payment.

The anti-narcotics officers handcuffed and read them their rights soon as the marked money was received.

“We are confident that these men have several cohorts still running about and they will be arrested sooner than they think. This shows how productive the results are if the PNP and PDEA are working together,” said PDEA RO1 Director Edgar S. Apalla.

Both suspects admitted that they acquired the illegal drugs in Bonuan Binloc in Dagupan, an area notorious for its thriving illegal drug trade.

The high quality eight grams of shabu confiscated from the suspects are currently under PDEA RO1 custody.  If found guilty, both will be facing life time imprisonment with a fine of P500,000 to P10 million.
