THE Dagupan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) has installed earthquake evacuation maps in the city’s public schools in time for the opening of classes on June 4.

Aside from the three billeting schools during the Palarong Pambansa held in early May – the Dagupan City National High School, West Central Elementary Schools I and II – where the council already put up maps, 10 other public elementary and high schools have been provided with the exit guides as of May 31.

The schools are:  Judge Jose De Venecia Memorial National High School, Bonuan Boquig National High School, Carael National High School, Salapingao National High School, Lomboy Elementary School, North Central Elementary School, General Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School, Sabangan Elementary School, Doña Victoria Q. Zarate Elementary School and Mamalingling Elementary School.

Twenty six other schools are lined up for the map installation.

The maps are intended as part of the early warning system (EWS) to prepare students for earthquakes. (CIO)
