National team paddles to victory
BANGUS FEST AND DRAGON BOAT RACES
THE National PH team, proving they are the best of the lot, paddled to the finish line to win three crowns in this year’s kayak and dragon boat competition of the Bangus Festival 2012 held in Pantal River.
In the men’s 10 seaters–finals, the national team toppled the Fleet Marine team of the second-placer Philippine Navy by three minutes to finish first, while the University of the Philippines (UP) team settled for third place.
The PH Team again clocked faster by 12 minutes against the Fleet Marine in the women’s 10 seaters-final, while the UP team also landed third.
In the mixed 20 seaters-finals, PH Team B and PH Team A landed first and second, respectively, while the Fleet Marines settled for the third spot.
This is the second time that kayak and dragon boat competitions were included in the Bangus Festival. (CIO)
