DTI launches online business registration

OWNERS of sole proprietorship businesses, existing and new, can now register online with the launching of the Sole Proprietorship New Registration (SPNR) under the Philippine Business Registry System (PBRS).

Provincial Director Peter Mangabat of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said the new system is intended to expedite all business registration–related transactions by integrating on the web the agencies related to the transactions.

Under the SPNR, sole proprietorship business owners can now validate existing registration or download, fill-up and submit registration forms through the internet.

Payment of fees can also be done electronically thru G-Cash, Mangabat said during the KBP Forum held Thursday.

Those who do not have access to the internet can still apply for registration at the nearest DTI offices in their areas.

Processing of application usually takes only about 15 minutes, he said.

The PBRS, launched in the entire country on March 1, is also being adopted for quick reference by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Securities and Exchange Commission, Social Security System, Cooperative Development Authority and the local government units.
