LINGAYEN–Everything remains under control.

This was the response to newsmen of Police Provincial Director Senior Superintendent Resueto Ricaforte when asked about the peace and order situation in the province.

Ricaforte said despite incidents of killings that happen “once in a while”, Pangasinan remains “relatively peaceful”.

The shooting incidents, he said, were just isolated cases and there was no indication that these were perpetrated by organized crime syndicates.

The police chief said records show that most of these crimes were motivated by personal grudges.

He also said that the perpetrators were mostly arrested or identified.

Ricaforte did admit that there are cases yet to be solved, but quickly added that the police are doing everything they can to find the perpetrators.

“If these are unsolved, one can be sure that we will not rest till these are solved. Mind you, the unsolved cases are subjects of our weekly conferences and I am taking the lead seriously in solving these cases,” Ricaforte said.

PALARONG PAMBANSA

At the same time, Ricaforte said the Pangasinan police is now preparing a viable security plan for the Palarong Pambansa to be hosted by the province from May 6 to 12.

An initial meeting was held with top officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) to discuss the security plan for the national sporting event which will be participated in by some 10,000 athletes, coaches, support staff, and DepEd officials.
