THE Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Pangasinan Council held its Junior Holiday and Senior Saranay Camp 2012 at the GSP Ating Tahanan in Baguio City from February 23 to 26, focusing on the theme “Save Our Planet”.

In the opening program, guest of honor and speaker Cadet Sushen Jimbel Mariz Sison, representative to the council board 2012, rallied the girl scouts to take part in saving the planet by doing simple yet helpful contributions.

The camp activities included an eco-trail trek, zip lining, wall climbing, rappelling, horseback riding, photography, “Thinking Day and Night” where the girl scouts wore ‘something green’ costumes in line with the environmental-consciousness theme, and a tour around Baguio’s main tourist spots including Camp John Hay, The Mansion, Wright Park, and Burnham Park.

More than 700 students between grades 4-6 and high school participated in the event, an annual event since 1996.—Johanne Macob, UPB
