SAN CARLOS CITY–Linemen of the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO) based here received free training from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on February 1-2 on maintenance works.

CENPELCO, which distributes electricity in central Pangasinan, is one of the grid customers of NGCP, the country’s only power transmission service provider and system operator.

Lilibeth Gaydowen , NGCP Corporate Communications Officer for North Luzon, said company President and Chief Executive Officer Henry T. Sy, Jr. welcome the growing interest of distribution utilities  and electric cooperatives in the free training which serves as a “good opportunity for technical information exchange and cooperation.”

Sy said working together with electric cooperatives to upgrade line maintenance skills will result

to faster restoration time, shorter power interruptions and overall improvement.

NGCP operates and maintains high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and other facilities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. (PIA-Pangasinan)
