EMPLOYEES of the Dagupan City government have been assured of a Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) of P10,000 each after the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved in a special session last week the P26.6 million supplemental budget proposed by the executive department.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, chair of the SP, said P14 million of the supplemental budget is intended for the PEI of regular employees.

Fernandez said the city treasurer’s office could release the PEI not later than Dec. 24 this year, in time for the Christmas celebration.

The PEI, submitted by Mayor Benjamin Lim on December 9 following the issuance of Administrative Order No. 24 of President Benigno S. Aquino III on December 1 “Authorizing the Grant of Productivity Enhancement Incentive to Government Employees for Fiscal Year 2011”, is on top of the 13th month pay and cash gift already received by the Dagupan City government employees.

The rest of the supplemental budget is allotted for various non-office expenses, including P3.3 million for electricity; financial aid to the Philippine National Police, P600,000; Development Management, P3.6 million; Social Services Program, P5.3million; Ecological and Environment Sanitation Program, P500,000; and Traffic Management, P200,000.

The P26.6 million supplemental budget will be sourced from the 4th quarter savings from Personal Services, Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses of various offices, water expense, Health Insurance Premium for Indigents and debt servicing.
