Bridge rehab in Calasiao set

CALASIAO–the 50-year old Villamil Bridge here is set for rehabilitation with a P90 million funding allocated by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

DPWH 3rd District Engineer Marietta Mendoza said the bridge’s foundation has weakened and the rehabilitation is necessary for the protection of commuters and pedestrians.

During the repair and rehabilitation period, Mendoza said commuters could use the three kilometer San Vicente –Pogo detour road.

“May dagdag lang na five minutes (ang biyahe),” she said.

The 100 meter Villamil bridge in Poblacion town connects Calasiao to other parts of Central Pangasinan . (PIA-Pangasinan)
