Carael student tops elocution tilt

FIONA Bianca Cuenca of Carael National High School topped the elocution contest sponsored by the Alfonso Lee Sin Memorial Lodge No. 158 of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines held August 26 in Dagupan City.

Second was Gelian Francisco of Genesis School while Elena de Guzman of Mother Goose Schools System held 3rd place.

The contest used a common piece entitled “Ang Pagpupugay sa Watawat ng Pilipinas” (Salute to the Philippine Flag).

The winners received cash prizes of P5,000, P4,000, and P3,000, respectively, and certificates of achievement while consolation cash prize of P500 were awarded to other participants.

The contest, conducted in cooperation with the Division of City Schools, Department of Education, drew thirteen contestants from 26 public and private secondary schools in the Dagupan.–Philamer C. Celi
