UL students boost blood donation drive

THE Philippine National Red Cross in the province collected last week 133,150 cc of blood from 303 donors who were mostly students of the University of Luzon.

Dr. Carmelo Vidal, school director for extension services, said the activity was aimed at increasing the awareness of students on voluntary blood donation, which the school organizes twice a year.

“We are fortunate to have an increasing number of donors every year. Our students even brought their family members to donate blood,” Vidal said.

Red Cross chapter administrator Florame Magalong thanked the university for complying with the agency’s ‘Pledge 25’ program, which targets 16-25 year olds, mostly students, to donate blood. (PIA-Pangasinan)
