Calasiao PNP on alert this Christmas
THE Calasiao police is in full alert during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, with increased police visibility around the town.
Intelligence Officer SPO2 Dario Ico said increased police visibility was adopted starting December 16 when the traditional Simbang Gabi began.
At the same time, policemen in uniform as well as in civilian clothes are also deployed in all barangays twelve hours a day. Police trainees taking up Bachelor of Science in Criminology from the University of Luzon were also tapped to conduct roving activity, along with regular policemen.
The alert is in response to the expected rise in theft and car-jacking during the holiday period.
The police have started check legitimacy of operations of firecracker manufacturers and vendors in the town.
Policemen’s gun nozzles will also be taped as a precaution against indiscriminate firing.
Ico said policemen caught discharging their firearms during the New Year will be suspended, while civilians doing the same will be arrested and charged.–Roselle P. Gale, Colegio de Dagupan
