MUTYA ng Pilipinas Tourism-International 2010 Barbara “Barbie” Salvador, also the reigning Mutya ng Pangasinan, was back in her hometown Pozorrubio on September 11, her first visit since she won the national beauty pageant.

After a motorcade in the major streets of the town, Barbie presided over the awarding of prizes to the winners of the Fun Run sponsored by the Pozorrubio Tennis Club, of which her grandfather Francisco, her father Raul and his only sibling former councilor Rene are lifetime members.

The run was participated in by joggers and bikers from Pozorrubio and other neighboring towns, including Urdaneta City.

The municipal government, led by Mayor Artemio Chan prepared a sumptuous breakfast of native foods for Barbie and her party.

Barbie, a business management graduate of Ateneo de Manila University, won over the pageant’s judges with her “tourism with a heart” reply when asked what she can do for her country if she won the Mutya title.

She will represent the country in the Miss Tourism International Pageant to be held in December.– JVillamil
