25 schools see action in annual cagefest

THE 16th season of the Dagupan City Developmental Basketball Championships, dubbed as “Basketball iS Life Cup ’10,” opened on September 1 with 39 participating basketball teams from 25 elementary and secondary schools.

Mayor Benjamin Lim, speaking during the opening ceremonies, stressed the need to work as a team in basketball in order to win.

“In basketball, a player does not play all by himself. Kobe Bryant will not be a star without the aid of the other members of his team. Kaya dito sa Dagupan lagi nating sinasabi, kung sama-sama, kayang-kaya,” said Lim.

The participating schools are Saint John Cathedral School, West Central Elementary School 1, East Central Elementary School, Pogo Lasip Elementary School, Mother Goose Special Science Institute, Pangasinan Universal Institute, Carael Elementary School, LNU-CMC, SAGS, Divine Word Academy of Dagupan, La Marea Academy, Living Lights Academy, North Central Elementary School, LFMES, FNCIS, Salisay Elementary School, Wonderland School, University of Luzon, Dagupan City National High School, LNUGHS, Ednas School, LNU-FQD, JJDVSMNHS, CSMA, and BBNHS.
