Jaycees from northern and central Luzon, Ilocandia, Cagayan Valley and Zambales trooped to the Museo ng Dagupan and forged an agreement with the Philippine National Red Cross to support the latter.

The Jaycees will establish a comprehensive blood type information directory, launch community drives to boost blood buffer stocks, and support community-led emergency response activities through the Red Cross 143 program.

JCI member Red Erfe-Mejia, area project director, said Jaycees from Regions 1-3 have committed themselves to establish the directory and promote improved civic engagement in programs of the Philippine National Red Cross.

“We are ready, efficient and dedicated,” he declared before Senator Richard Gordon, chairman of the Philippine National Red Cross, JCI national executive vice president Ryan Ravanzo and presidents of various local chapters after the agreement was signed.

The signing was witnessed by local Red Cross directors Provincial Board Members Alfonso Bince and Jeremy Rosario, Vice Mayor Ferdinand Galang and actress Maybeline dela Cruz-Fernandez.

The program was inspired by the initiative of city administrator Alvin Fernandez who created Dagupan City’s first comprehensive blood type information directory.#
