Bataoil-Garcia anti-drug bikefest reels off Dec. 14

AFTER the successful staging of the first event last year, the second edition of the anti-drug bikefest dubbed as the “2nd Gen. Bataoil-Jesus Garcia, Jr. Cup” (Siklista Kontra sa Droga) cycling road race will be held on December 14.

The road battle, starting and ending in Mangaldan, will traverse parts of the national highways within central and western Pangasinan with an approximate distance of 158 kilometers.

Well-known professional and amateur riders of Pangasinan and neighboring provinces are expected to participate with a maximum of 70 contestants.

Cash prizes amounting to P72,000 plus trophies and medals are up for grabs in the race sponsored by NCRPO chief Gen. Leopoldo Bataoil and supported by the host town’s Mayor Herminio Romero and the Sangguniang Bayan members headed by Vice Mayor Pedro Surdilla, Jr.

The bikathon’s pedal-by-pedal account from start to finish will be aired live over Sonshine Radio DZRD 981 Khz AM starting at 10:00 a.m.—JAG, Jr.
