Outstanding athletes in Milo Olympics honored

THE most outstanding athletes in 11 sporting events during the 11th MILO Little Olympics-Luzon held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) on September 12-14 were honored in a special ceremony last Saturday, September 20.

Among the 22 honorees were eight Pangasinenses, of whom six are elementary students and two in secondary level.

Tess Bernardino, Milo sports coordinator, said those honored were athletes who won in athletics, badminton, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball events, both in the elementary and secondary levels.

The outstanding athletes in the elementary level are Chrishelle Malanum (athletics) of Telbang Elementary School in Alaminos City; Niccolo Yabut (badminton) of Brightwoods School in Angeles City, Pampanga; Abram Fermarc Ordona (chess) of DMMMSU-SLUC in Agoo, La Union;

Patrick Bernardo (football) of Don Bosco Academy in Mabalacat, Pampanga; Denzyll Santos (gymnastics) of San Vicente Elementary School in Baguio City; Amiel Joseph Beltrano (lawn tennis) of Alaminos Central School in Alaminos City; Daryll Pobletin (sepak takraw) of Mabini Central School in Mabini; Reinaldo Bautista III (swimming) of University of Baguio-Laboratory Elementary School;

Marlon De Ocampo (table tennis) of Bani West Central School in Bani,; Jan Jay Corpuz (taekwondo) of Arch-diocesan School of San Fabian; and Ronnie Nesperos (volleyball) of Cabuyao Elementary School in Bolinao.

In the secondary level, the outstanding athletes are Eden Padilla (athletics) of VMUF-St. Dominic High School in San Carlos City; Raniel Lloyd Nguyen (badminton) of Olongapo City National High School; Ryan Evangelista (chess) of Holy Angel University in Angeles City; Melchor Aquino (football) of Baguio City National High School;

Juan Carlos Basbas (gymnastics) of Baguio City National High School; Mary Grace Rivero (lawn tennis) of St. Joseph College in Olongapo City: Arkhe Nunez (sepak takraw) of Benguet National High School in La Trinidad, Benguet; Marc Jan Calub (swimming) of the University of Baguio;

Jenniveb Joyce Catabay (table tennis) of Ranom Iloco National High School in Bani; Clifford Wood (taekwondo) of Holy Angel University in Angeles City; and Kyra Ocampo (volleyball) of the Holy Angel University in Angeles City.

The Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) topped the final medal standing in the secondary level with 40 gold, 29 silver, and 29 bronze medals.

The University of Baguio topped the final medal standing in the elementary level with 12 gold, five silver, and six bronze.—CSR
