Lasip Grande beauty wins Miss Dagupan 2007 crown

SEVENTEN-YEAR OLD Melanie Grace Heng of Lasip Grande won the Miss Dagupan 2007 crown during a well-attended pageant held at the city plaza on December 18.

Heng, who also bagged the Miss Natasha special award, topped in the contest of brains and beauty participated in by 31 contestants from each of the city’s barangays.

First runner-up was Plinkee Delos Reyes of Caranglaan while Camille Ann Castro of Bolosan was second runner up; Alannah Cuison of Pogo Chico, third runner up; and Arnelynne Balolong of Bonuan Boquig, fourth runner up.

Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo, this year’s hermano mayor of the Dagupan fiesta, said the winners will be crowned on December 26, eve of the Dagupan Fiesta.

Recipients of other special awards include Janice Tenorio of Tambac, Miss Congeniality; Plinkee delos Reyes, Miss Photogenic and Miss Ecology; Jocelyn Ubando of Bonuan Gueset, best in creative costume; Alannah Cuison, best inswimsuit; Camillie Ann Castro, best in long gown and darling of the press; and Aiza Mae Maramba of Mayombo, Miss Diet Coke.

Minor awards included cash prizes, bangus-inspired trophies, and gift items from pageant sponsors.—CIO
