Illegal recruiter nabbed

LINGAYEN–A woman with a string of arrest warrants for various crimes was finally arrested by the local police here Thursday in Barangay Lasip following a wide manhunt.

Nabbed was Leah Mendoza dela Cruz, 29, resident of Avenida Rizal, Barangay Poblacion, who is wanted for a long list of cases for estafa and illegal recruitment cases.

The arrest warrants against Dela Cruz were issued by various regional trial courts (RTC) here, in Urdaneta City as well in Malolos, Bulacan.

One of the warrants was issued by Judge Emma Bauzon of RTC branch 37, Lingayen dated June 1,2007 for illegal recruitment, while another arrest warrant issued by Judge Joven Costales of RTC branch 45, Urdaneta City dated May 22, 2007 for estafa.

Two other arrest war rants were issued by Judge Tita Villarin of RTC branch

46 of Urdaneta City dated March 23, 2007 and May 28, 2007 for estafa and illegal recruitment respectively.

The fifth arrest warrant was issued by Judge Meliton Emuslan of RTC branch 47 dated November 16, 2006 for illegal recruitment with no bailbond recommended.

Judge Victoria Bernardo of RTC branch18 of Malolos also issued an arrest warrant on June 25, 2007 against the suspect for illegal recruitment and estafa with no bailbond recommended.

Judge Candido Belmonte of RTC branch 22 of Malolos, Bulacan likewise issued on November 14, 2006 an arrest warrant for estafa and another also by Belmonte on November 14, 2006 for large scale illegal recruitment with no bailbond.–EVA
