The Magic Group of Companies, in partnership with the Department of Education-Dagupan, will honor the 10 most outstanding public school teachers in Dagupan City during a formal awarding ceremony for the Search for Matalungaring ya Maestra on March 19 at the People’s Astrodome.

Forty elementary and high school public teachers from all over Dagupan City have been previously awarded since its launching in 2002.

Brian Lim, general manager and chief executive officer of the Magic Group, said the search is aimed at according special recognition to teachers who manifest commitment to the development of the youth through exemplary competence, remarkable dedication to their work and effective educational leadership.

“The major purpose of this search is to recognize contributions of school teachers in national development by raising the quality of education and exemplifies the finest in the teaching profession,” Lim said.

The search has been categorized into three levels, namely: school level, district level and division level.

The nominees were already scrutinized by members of the selection committee headed by the assistant schools division superintendent, district supervisor and school principals during a series of elimination rounds on February 23, February 28 and March 5.

Each awardee will receive P10, 000 as cash prize, a plaque of recognition and special gift packs.
