LINGAYEN – Expect bumpy rides while negotiating craters on the roads to continue.

The 2nd Pangasinan District Engineer has suspended all works on government projects the last  two  weeks due to heavy rains that hit  the province.

District Engineer Rodolfo Dion ordered the contractors working on these road repair and maintenance projects to adjust their work schedule and accordingly and assured them they would not be penalized for the delay.

Dion said the suspension of work will protect their projects from being washed away by heavy rains and floods.

He said asphalting work in particular is impossible to undertake during heavy rains and floods   lest   the quality of the project will be risked.

He also clarified that the asphalt overlay   project being undertaken by contractors and supervised by his office, in some parts of Dagupan will still continue after the rains stop.

Dion said his office must ensure that the value for money paid by taxpayers is delivered at the same time pay contractors their due on time. – APE
