SPEAKER Jose de Venecia, Jr. inaugurated last March 5 the newly-built water pumping station of barangay Bonuan Binloc in Dagupan City, funded by his Countrywide Development Assistance Fund.

The P4.8 million project is part of the first-ever water system for  barangay Bonuan Binloc that will soon include a five kilometer pipe line that will convey potable water to every homes.

The Dagupan City Water District will manage the water pumping station.

The pumping station will draw potable water from a depth of 600 feet or 200 meters so residents will stop depending on water from shallow wells, many of which were already intruded with salty water.

“The most important thing is that we can now prevent the emergence of gastro-interitis among the people who used to be drawing water from shallow wells,” the Speaker said.

De Venecia was accompanied by his wife Gina.

They were joined by Vice Mayor Alvin Fernandez,Councilors  Michael Fernandez, Farah Decano, Danilo Torio, Jose Netu Tamayo and Alex de Venecia, Director Daniel Fabia  of the Phi-lippine National Railways, Bonuan Binloc  Barangay Captain Pedro Gonzales and his fellow barangay officials.

Dagupan City General Manager   Ramon Reyna was represented by Engr. Adelfo Valle, division manager, and DCWD Director Rudy Ramos in the inauguration ceremony.
