City Mayor Benjamin Lim again led the destruction of second batch of 51 Ameneng and Hataw machines last Thursday in front of the Dagupan City Police (DCPS).
Provincial Director Allan Purisima, PNP Command intelligence and investigation chief P/Supt Noli Taliño, Police Chief Col. Edgar Basbas, and the elements of DCPS joined Mayor Lim in the ceremonial axing of the illegal video games.
Forty one of the illegal video games were confiscated in Dagupan, six in Calasiao and four in Urdaneta. The mother boards of all the illegal video games were also crushed during the activity.
Mayor Lim said that the activity should prove to all the determination of the city government to pursue the drive against illegal gambling.
Lim, however, did not indicate whether operators of the confiscated machines were arrested. No arrest has been reported since he launched the campaign in the city. Lim had directed Col. Basbas to totally eradicate the operation of the illegal video games in the city.

“I hope that the barangay officials and residents will be vigilant and inform us of the presence of other similar illegal activities going on in their respective communities.”
Lim wrote letters to the barangay chairmen warning them of sanctions if they fail to report illegal activities in their respective barangays.
The mayor reiterated this support to the police department “as long as the agency performs its duty efficiently”.
He promised that a Dagupan City Police Cooperative will be established to provide incentives to members of the city’s police force.
“We will grant the cooperative an Aquaculture Lease Agreement (ALA) for free to operate a fishpen.” Lim said.
He added he will help raise funds to start the cooperative, and help solicit more funds from the civic organizations to help finance the co-op.
