Remembering Dr. Lu Fernandez

Kuya Lu is somebody worth remembering in our family.

In 1972 when I suffered a deadly cardiac condition he personally came to our house and carried me into his car to be brought to PMC. He was the one who brought me to St. Luke’s in an ambulance in Sept. 21 1972, despite of martial law. If not for him I would no be alive by now enjoying the company of my 6 children here in US.

My family and I will never forget him and will always be in our hearts. I regret though, that I haven’t seen him before he left this world.

To his family, our love for him is extended to all of you. To Winnie and Alice; to Malu & Kevin and their siblings, our love and prayers.

The interment of Dr. Lu Fernandez will be in May 7. I am supposed to celebrate my 74th birthday on this date. Instead of celebrating we will offer a mass for the eternal repose of the soul of Kuya Lu at St .Cecilia Catholic Church here in Houston.
