THE Association of Private Schools, Colleges and Universities (APSCU) in Region 1 recently held its two-day biennial convention, with the theme: APSCU Responding to the New Challenges in Education and Environment”, at the Leisure Coast Resort and Hotel in Dagupan City.
        APSCU president Macarthur Samson Sr. of the University of Luzon said the convention coincided with a seminar on how to improve teaching methods as well as a talk on climate change.

Pangasinan tops Region 1 cultural festival
PANGASINAN emerged as the over-all champion in the recently held Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) 1st Regional Academic and Cultural Festival.
          The 1st place winners for Pangasinan were University of Luzon’s Pepsi Aquino in Story-telling, Sharmaine Gabrillo of the Lyceum Northwestern University in Impromptu Speech, Ronalyn Bito and Charil Joy Trinidad of the Pangasinan State University in Vocal Duet, Dondon Pablo, also of PSU. in Poetry Interpretation, Alexander Cedric and Stephen Kjell Joce Embing of the Virgin Milagrosa University Foundation in Oration; and, Gerardo Carlos Datuin of Colegio de Dagupan, in Vocal Solo.
