FINALLY, A DREAM COME TRUE
Sual Port project set to spur industrialization
SUAL--The Sual Port Development Project,
touted to pave the way for the industrialization and the
long-delayed economic development of Pangasinan, broke
ground on Friday.
“As we lower the time capsule
and set the landmark for this strategic project, we are
hopeful that after 365 days, a new climate of growth
will fan the steady march of Pangasinan towards a
premier location for investment,” said Governor Amado
Espino Jr. |
Administrative case vs. Domantay
dismissed
LINGAYEN--The Sanguniang Panlalawigan
(SP) Committee on Good Government and
Accountability of Public Officials has
cleared Malasiqui Mayor Armando Domantay
Sr. of the administrative charges filed
against him over the transfer of several
monuments of heroes in the town center.
At the same time, the committee has
recommended the suspension of further
proceedings on another administrative
charge against Domantay involving the
contract he signed with the Magic Group
of Companies for the lease of a public
land across the municipal hall. |
THINK ABOUT IT
A wake up call on
Dagupan's Finest
By
Jun Velasco
LOCAL broadcaster Harold Barcelona complains that Dagupan City’s law enforcers “are sleeping on the job.”
His heart was bruised by a
heart-wrenching event last Monday. His l9-year old son,
Erwin, was inside a Bonuan-bound jeep when attacked by
four thugs from notorious Sitio Aling just across the
imposing University of Pangasinan-PHINMA complex. |
Mangaldan mayor seeks rival’s
disqualification
MANGALDAN--Reelectionist Mayor Herminio Romeo could be
running unopposed in the May polls if the Commission on
Elections (Comelec) grants his petition to disqualify
his lone opponent, Bonifacia De Vera Parayno.
Romero filed the case after Parayno
submitted her certificate of candidacy for Mayor on
December 10, 2009, alleging she is not qualified to run
for any public office because of her dual
Filipino-American citizenship.
