No pork shortage in Pangasinan, say
ROSALES--An official of the Northern
Luzon Hog raisers Cooperative said
despite the pork shortage, Filipinos,
especially Pangasinenses, can still
enjoy their favorite ham and lechon this
holiday season.
Engr. Rosendo So, treasurer of the group,
which has more than 200 members, told
local newsmen that the reported shortage
was caused by the decision of some hog
raisers to stop raising pigs five months
ago.
DTI lauds CSI’s corporate responsibility
to communities
THE Department of Trade and Industry
(DTI) recently commended the CSI Group
of Companies for its annual hosting of
the Sari Sari Store Fair.
Gracing the three-day 3rd Sari-Sari
Store Fair at CSI Stadia on Friday, DTI
Director Florante Leal said the CSI
Group of Companies evidently is in the
business not just for profit but to pump
prime the local economy in Dagupan,
Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur and
part of the Cordillera Region.

Province’s organic fertilizer boosts
farmers’ revenues
LINGAYEN--The local agricultural sector
received another boost from the provincial government
through the latter’s free distribution of its newly
developed organic fertilizers to local farmers.
The cheap but effective fertilizer that
uses chicken manure as base, initially sourced from the
poultry farm of Governor Amado Espino Jr. in Barangay
Portic, Bugallon, was developed by the provincial
government.
