Espino: Road repairs have high priority
LINGAYEN--Gov. Amado Espino Jr. has directed the province's engineers to prioritize the repair of roads and construction of temporary bridges to restore easy access to and around the province.
         "Not necessarily asphalting or cementing them but making them passable to commuters," Espino said.

Barangay Carmen East residents: No warning signal!
IT came like a thief in the night.
         This was how Fernando Escalona described the rampaging water coming from the volume of water released from the San Roque Dam, devastated his barangay Carmen East in Rosales town.
          Escalona, a former barangay chairman and now president of the Senior Citizens Association, said it was the worst-ever flooding that he experienced.

Agat Bridge rehab underway
ROSALES--Rehabilitation efforts are underway for the Agat Bridge in Sison, a vital link connecting Pangasinan to Baguio and other provinces in the north.
         Three of the bridge's spans sank at the height of the flooding on October 9. The Agat Bridge that connects Sison, Pangasinan to Rosario, La Union is a 500-meter long bridge with 15 spans.

 

 


 

 

 

Dagupan hospitals lost major equipment to flood
NOW is not a good time to get sick and be hospitalized.
        Most of the hospitals in Dagupan could not operate owing to the flooding in their premises.
         Of the 11 public and private hospitals in the city, only one, the Pangasinan Medical Center (PMC) on Nable Street in Barangay Pantal, was spared from the flood.
 

Dagupan council to question NPC on dam water release
AFTER the Senate, local legislative bodies race to likewise question officials of the San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC) and National Power Corporation (NPC) on the release of huge volume of excess water from the San Roque Dam at the height of Typhoon “Pepeng”.
        The Dagupan City Council has set its own fact-finding investigation in aid of legislation on the matter, and invited officials of the two agencies to appear on Monday.
