DON'T BLAME NAPOCOR ALONE
FVR: Arroyo gov't also accountable
ASINGAN--Don't just blame the flood on the officials of the San Roque Multi-Purpose Dam Project (SRMDP) and the National Power Corporation (Napocor).
This was the message sent by former President Fidel V. Ramos as he cited faulty flood control dikes and the abolition of the Agno River Basin Development Commission (ARBDC) in 2004 by the Arroyo administration as among the major causes of the massive flooding that affected most Pangasinan towns and cities in the wake of Typhoon Pepeng on October 9.
IA history of deluge every 37 years
By Leonardo V. Micua
WAS it mere coincidence or was the city destined to suffer the worst flood yet after 37 years?
The three worst floods that have swept over Pangasinan in recorded memory occurred 37 years of each other. Does that mean, the city can expect the next killer flood in 2046?

Climate Change
By +Oscar V. Cruz D. D.

When the matter of "Climate Change”, "Global Warming" and related concerns were first brought to the formal attention of the world, at first there was shock. This was followed by worry that in some way ended in doubt if not downright rejection by some members of the world of science and technology due to counter arguments of their own. Eventually however, there have been some concrete moves taken and particular resolves made specifically to counter and thereby respond to the already felt adverse climate effects in certain parts of the globe.
Dagupan council to question NPC on dam water release
AFTER the Senate, local legislative bodies race to likewise question officials of the San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC) and National Power Corporation (NPC) on the release of huge volume of excess water from the San Roque Dam at the height of Typhoon “Pepeng”.
The Dagupan City Council has set its own fact-finding investigation in aid of legislation on the matter, and invited officials of the two agencies to appear on Monday.
