PANGASINAN
AIRPORT IN ALAMINOS
Domestic operation in 2012,
international flights in 2022
ALAMINOS
CITY--The dream for the Pangasinan
Airport is finally taking shape with the
established timetable for completion
from 2009 to 2022.
According to Mayor
Hernani Braganza, the first phase of the
development for the period 2009-2012
will cover the construction of
facilities for domestic operations. |
Capitol set to buy own dredging machine
LINGAYEN--The provincial government
decided it should have its own dredging
machine and has encouraged towns and
cities to buy their own rubber boats in
order to raise their level of
preparedness for floods.
Governor Amado
Espino Jr., in his Lingguhang
Talakayan sa Kapitolyo on Monday,
said the province has to acquire its own
dredging machine to dredge the now
shallow rivers and ensure faster flow of
floodwaters to the sea. |

Barba wants gun owners as 'police
buddies'
LINGAYEN--It appears arming the barangay
chairmen in the province with shotguns
ostensibly to help maintain peace and
order in the province is not enough.
The police provincial
director now wants to tap the more than
10, 000 prospective licensed gun owners
in Pangasinan as an additional force
multiplier' of the police to help
maintain peace and order in the
province. |
One-Stop spa shop
in jail
LINGAYEN-- If one is looking for a place
in Lingayen where one can avail of the
services of a good and courteous
manicurist, barber, masseur, tailor or a
car mechanic at the most affordable
prices, try the Provincial Jail.
The training program for
the inmates, a component of the
rehabilitation efforts at the provincial
jail by the Espino government, has
apparently reaped some success among the
inmates. |
Teachers defy
DepEd, use banned guidebooks
LINGAYEN--While the contentious issues
surrounding the controversial teacher's
guidebooks published by the Espino
administration remain unresolved, the
books' popularity among teachers in the
province has grown.
Of late, five school
superintendents of Pangasinan have
endorsed the use of the books by the
teachers in direct defiance of the order
of the Department of Education not to
use it.
