PANGASINAN
AIRPORT IN ALAMINOS
Domestic operation in 2012,
international flights in 2022
ALAMINOS
CITY--The dream for the Pangasinan
Airport is finally taking shape with the
established timetable for completion
from 2009 to 2022.
According to Mayor
Hernani Braganza, the first phase of the
development for the period 2009-2012
will cover the construction of
facilities for domestic operations.

Capitol set to buy own dredging machine
LINGAYEN--The provincial government
decided it should have its own dredging
machine and has encouraged towns and
cities to buy their own rubber boats in
order to raise their level of
preparedness for floods.
Governor Amado
Espino Jr., in his Lingguhang
Talakayan sa Kapitolyo on Monday,
said the province has to acquire its own
dredging machine to dredge the now
shallow rivers and ensure faster flow of
floodwaters to the sea. |
PUNCHLINE
Another
template for corruption
By Ermin Garcia Jr.
IT IS, indeed, very reassuring to see Guv Spines on the move to forestall a calamity in the province of
Ondoy proportion. But I am personally dismayed that the first thing
he could think of is to buy a brand new dredging machine even before
he can study and pinpoint the critical areas and establish the
logistics that accompany such an operation. I thought that giving
his two pro-active programs for the environment more teeth by seeing
to a stricter enforcement of the laws would serve us well for
starters. But no, he wants to spend precious people’s money on a
machine. |
Sual wants own
rescue center
SUAL--The
local government and the townsfolk here have decided to
take the bull by its horns and be more proactive in
protecting their lives and properties.
They are setting up the Sual
Rescue Command Center to respond and to assist in
emergency situations. The plan initially calls for
constructing a building that will house the police
station, the fire department and teams of paramedics,
and training facilities.
