San Fabian 'Doc' eyed as kidnap group
head
A MAN nicknamed "Doc" who comes from an
influential family in San Fabian has
been tagged as the leader and protector
of the five suspected members of a
kidnap-for-ransom (KFR) group slain in a
shootout with police and military
authorities at dawn Wednesday.
P/Sr. Supt. Isagani Nerez, chief of
the Police Anti-Crime Emergency Response
(PACER), said "Doc" is now under
investigation shortly after five
suspected members of a suspected KFR
group were killed in a shoot-out with
the police in Dagupan City.

Dagupenos told: Learn to live with tidal
floods
THE tidal floods in Dagupan are here to
stay.
Two engineers of the Department of Public
Works and Highways (DPWH) have opined
that there is practically no solution to
the long-standing and perennial flooding
in parts of the city caused by high tide
as the problem is now worsened by global
warming.

City hall bent on restoring sidewalks
THE Dagupan City government is determined to reclaim the
lost sidewalk on Arellano Street, illegally expropriated
for private use by owners of commercial establishments
and residential houses.
The Sidewalk Recovery Program (SRP) was
launched by the city on Arellano-Bani with the
completion of the upgrading of the Arellano Street.

PASG
confiscates illegal vegetable imports
URDANETA CITY--Two
truckloads of imported onions, garlic,
pepper and monggo were seized by
operatives of the Presidential
Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) on Thursday
at the old cattle market here after the
owners failed to show importation
documents.
The PASG has been monitoring movements of
illegally imported vegetable products
that have been flooding local markets to
the disadvantage of local producers.
