Chinese consul visits Pangasinan
LINGAYEN--A sisterhood agreement of the province with Sichuan province in China is being mulled as a result of the recent visit of China's consular officers.
        Chinese consulate officials led by Consul Tian Qixiang of the consulate of the People's Republic of China based in Laoag City visited the province last week to rekindle friendship and strengthen cooperation between Pangasinan and China.

Cenpelco boosts power service
MANGATAREM--The Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) will start operating a new sub-station here this month to boost the supply of power in the towns of Mangatarem and Aguilar.
         Cenpelco Director Alma Banaga said the project will stabilize power supply to 220 volts and finally end problems of fluctuating power voltage that caused damage to household appliances.

Pork business down by 50%; chicken up
LINGAYEN--One industry's loss is another one's gain.
        
The decline in demand for pork over the last month following the swine flu scare has benefited poultry raisers as consumers have been buying more dressed chicken.
