TO RID LINGAYEN GULF OF POLLUTION
City hall now wants jail out of Dagupan
It will have to go.
Thus said Dagupan City Administrator Alvin Fernandez about the fate of the District Jail located in Bonuan Gueset.

Evidently peeved by the endless reports about the continuing pollution of the beachfront emanating from the district jail, he said the city government is now prepared to seek its transfer to any location outside the city.
Employees in missing P9 million to be charged
SAN CARLOS CITY--Heads will roll once city hall employees responsible for the missing P9 million have been identified.

This, Mayor Julier Resuello vowed, will happen as he reiterated that there will be no sacred cows in the ongoing probe for the reported missing fund from the city coffers.
Both the fact-finding committee and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that are conducting separate investigations are expected to render their reports very soon.

Arenas deplores killing rampage in 3rd District
WHO is in charge?
Third District Rep. Ma. Rachel Arenas is wont to ask this question noting the high rate of murders in her district, targeting public officials and prominent citizens in the district, and whose cases remain unsolved to this day.

She expressed alarm over the manner with which hired guns are able to kill their intended targets in her district and escape with so much ease and urged the police to intensify their anti-crime campaign, particularly to curb the proliferation of unlicensed or loose firearms.

Sitio Russia now partially cleared - Alvin
THE site for the building of the planned Seafood Processing Plant in Sitio Russia Barangay Bonuan Binloc is finally cleared of squatters as of June 25.
The twenty-four families that initially resisted attempts to relocate them, voluntarily moved to the Gawad Kalinga-Bangusville Phase II in Sitio Korea, said City Administrator Alvin Fernandez.

Fernandez said the 38 families who remain in the site are occupying the area reserved for car park area and the docking area for boats arriving from various coastal municipalities in the province bringing in fish products to the plant for processing.
Esperon hints writ of possession for project
ASINGAN--To break the impasse that's causing the delay in the completion of the flood control project, Secretary Hermogenes Esperon Jr. hinted government may proceed with the enforcement of a writ of possession issued by the court.
Esperon mentioned this possibility as the scheduled dialogue between the landowners and their lawyer, officials of the Flood Control Office of the  Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the contractor, Daewoo Engineering and Construction Corporation last June 24 was postponed to June 30.
