FINALLY,  AFTER 5-MONTH DELAY
Construction pf plant starts
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Korean government-funded Seafood Processing Plant in Dagupan was finally held last May 20 after a 5-month delay paving the way for its construction.
Korean Ambassador Choi Joong Kyung, whose government is giving a $2.2 million (about P100 million) grant for the project, and 4th District Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr., who worked out the grant, attended the rites.

Dagupan forms A-H1N1 multi-agency task force
DAGUPAN has created a multi-agency task force to oversee the city's preparations to counter a possible outbreak of the influenza A-H1N1 virus in the city.
The move was in response to the national government's call for local government units to initiate precautionary measures against the disease after the Philippines registered its first case of the dreaded A-H1N1 virus.

Why Pangasinan riders lost in the Padyak Pinoy
By Jesus A. Garcia Jr.
HOUSTON, Texas– I intended to write this last week but time constraints kept me from doing so. I’m so sorry dear readers.
After a stressful pell-mell at the Padyak Pinoy 8-day bikefest, I’m taking a vacation here in Texas to visit my relatives on my father’s side. (My good and generous friends in Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Blandino Caguioa, hosted me to make this piece).

JDV hits Cha-cha backers
FOURTH District Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr. tagged the proponents of Charter Change at this time as those suffering from "ideological confusion".
Speaking to newsmen on Wednesday, the former five-time Speaker of the House of Representatives said Cha-Cha backers should now "move forward" after the proposal has been practically shelved at the Lower Chamber.
