11-nation PATAFA meet opens May 10
IT'S all systems go for the PATAFA (Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association) National Open Invitational Athletic Championships on May 10 to 12 at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen.
       The participants from 11 nations and the organizers have been assured that the facilities and preparations for the events have not been affected by Typhoon Emong.

Quirimit is king of Pista'y Dayat cycling
FORMER RP national rider Arnel Quirimit orchestrated a four-man breakaway group halfway through the race and displayed a burst of speed in the last 300 meters to outsprint his three partners to rule the 2009 Pista'y Dayat Cycling Classic held on May 1.
        His effort won him P20,000 for the top prize and a huge trophy.
