PSU confers Espino with Doctor of Humanities
GOVERNOR Amado Espino Jr. was conferred with Doctor of Humanities honoris causa by the Pangasinan State University (PSU) during the institution's 30th commencement exercises held Monday at The Stadia in Dagupan.
      
Dr. Victoriano Estira, PSU president, said Espino was accorded the honor for "reinventing government” by initiating a societal reorientation and cultural transformation among Pangasinan's government employees and the leaders of the bureaucracy.

Colegio de Dagupan gains deregulated status
The Colegio de Dagupan adds another feather on its cap.
       It recently acquired a deregulated status starting school year 2009 which starts in June.
       The  deregulated status  granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) accords the institution benefits and advantages as provided for by law, including freedom from monitoring and evaluation activities of the CHED and the privilege to determine and prescribe its curricular programs to achieve global competence.

 

 

 

 

Orchestra, ballroom dancing showdown set in Lingayen April 27
THE grand orchestra and ballroom dancing showdown, one of the most attended events in last year's Pista'y Dayat celebration, is making a comeback this year with more participants expected.
      
Ten orchestras will have a showdown at the Capitol Beachfront in Lingayen on April 27 at 6 p.m. with simultaneous and individual performances.

Debutante
ALLEN Monsalud Paragas, daughter of Eng. Crisanto Vincent Paragas and Mrs. Louie Monsalud-Paragas of Calasiao will observe her 18th birthday on April 20, 2009.
     
The debutante is studying at the University of the Philippines in Baguio City.

Velasco to LNU-Hi grads: construct a 'better world'
PRESIDENTIAL Management  Staff officer Youssef Velasco exhorted the graduates of the FQD Special Science High School "to stick to what you strongly believe in consistent with the fashioning and construction of a better world" at their graduation program on April 2 at the Lyceum  Northwestern University gym.
       "The path to reach your goals is not easy and often rocky and painful but it will eventually bring you to your dream-world so long as you remain faithful to your great goals inspired by the leaders who came before us and the Lord's commandments," he said.
