LAPUS ORDERS REVIEW OF GUIDEBOOKS
Espino adopts "wait-n'-see" on superintendents' case
LINGAYEN--The provincial government is adopting a wait-and-see attitude on the reported re-assignment of Division Superintendents Alma Ruby Torio and Armando Aquino of Pangasinan 1 and 2, respectively.

Provincial Information Officer Butch Velasco said Education Secretary Jesli Lapus has decided to give the issue the "benefit of the doubt" by creating a committee from the Department of Education (DepEd) to review the guidebooks in question.

Resuello not giving up his quest for justice
SAN CARLOS CITY--Mayor Julier Resuello is not giving up hope on his quest to seek justice for the murder of his father, former Mayor Julian Resuello, who was gunned down two years ago.

Resuello's continued optimism stems from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's instruction to three Cabinet members to monitor the developments on the case.

Enhancing peace in ARMM the PhilRice-JICA way

By Dr. Sosimo Ma. Pablico
PEACE IN the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has always been elusive. Other than political reasons, the continuing conflict between the Muslim rebels and the government is being aggravated by poverty among Muslims. To many of the rebels, winning the war that has been raging on for decades is their way of solving poverty.

Their poverty, however, is not caused by landlessness, as there is an abundance of land in Muslim Mindanao. Rather, it is caused by the lack of technology as well as poor motivation among Muslim farmers.
Pista'y Dayat focuses on environmental awareness
THIS year's Pistay Dayat celebration promises to be another spectacular event focusing on environmental awareness.
With the theme, "Matuwan Pasimbalo: Gayaga na Luyag Tayo," the sea festival will highlight the various programs and accomplishments of the province related to environmental protection and tourism.
