Cemeteries will soon need ECCs too
BUSINESSES servicing the dead will soon
be subjected to stricter environmental
requirements.
Engr. Lourdes Tugade, senior environmental
management specialist of the Provincial
Environment and Natural Resources Office
(PENRO) based in Dagupan, said their
office is just waiting to receive an
official copy of a memo requiring
crematoria, cemeteries, and funeral
parlors to submit a comprehensive
environmental impact plan in order to
secure an Environmental Compliance
Certificate (ECC).
Rice, corn have high potentials in
Dagupan
DESPITE a limited agricultural area,
Dagupan can has a high production of
rice and corn, according to City
Agriculturalist Emma Molina.
Molina said at least 16 hectares of land
in Barangay Mangin alone has now been
planted to inbred and hybrid rice.

Japanese group to
recruit 1,000 nurses
MALASIQUI--A group of Japanese businessmen are coming to
the third district this week to recruit 1,000 nurses for
employment in Japan.
Rep.
Ma. Rachel Arenas, who is brokering the recruitment,
said the group also plans to open a Japanese language
school in the area to train the qualified applicants
before they are sent out to Japan.
